The Giants had gone a long time without winning. On Monday night

, they finally did again. And quarterback Eli Manning was happy to change the narrative in New York.“That was big,” Manning told reporters after the 27-23 victory. “That was big, and we鈥檝e been good at the two-minute drive this year. Unfortunately, we鈥檝e been kind of down two scores, or left too much time on [the clock] sometimes and weren鈥檛 able to get some wins. But when we needed touchdowns we鈥檝e been able to get them late in games. So, we felt confident about it and guys made some great plays, Evan [Engram], Saquon [Barkley], Sterling [Shepard] at the end. It was big. We鈥檝e got good players, we鈥檝e got good receivers and they finally played a little man-to-man, and we were able to make some plays. . . .聽It means a lot, and that鈥檚 kind of what I told the guys this week. I said, 鈥榃e鈥檝e worked too hard not to be rewarded with wins.鈥?We鈥檝e kind of stayed true to the course though, and each week prepare hard, practice well, play hard in games and we just weren鈥檛 able to get some of the outcomes or make some of the plays we needed to to win. And http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-rhett-ellison-jersey
, today we were able to do that.”That’s what they did, getting their first victory since Week Three, in Houston.鈥淲ins are important,” Manning said. “Wins mean a lot, especially after this season and what we鈥檝e had to go through as a team, what I鈥檝e had to go through, and just the questions and this and that. So, just to be able to have a two-minute drive to win a football game, hopefully we can just focus on some positive things for at least one more week.鈥漊ntil next week, Manning gets to enjoy the feeling of winning a game on a last-minute drive.“[I]t doesn鈥檛 get old,” Manning said. “That鈥檚 fun. It鈥檚 fun playing in those games and having a two-minute drive to win it. Those are the situations you want to be in if you want to have a chance. Obviously, you鈥檇 love to have a two-score lead with a little time, and run it out or whatnot, but you prepare and practice for those two-minute drives to go win football games. To come through is exciting. The team needs that. The defense needs that to know that we can do that. Offense, we needed that for ourselves, saying http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-connor-barwin-jersey
, 鈥楬ey, we can win.鈥?If we get close in games, we can go win football games and we just had to do it.”They did it, and now the Giants will try to build on it. And the goal will be to keep the focus on football and not on the end of football for Eli.鈥淚t鈥檚 more just getting asked about it,” Manning said regarding whether the talk bothers him. “Just trying to — it doesn鈥檛 bother me what people say, but just having to answer questions about it, I guess. You want to go out there and play football and that鈥檚 what I want to do. I want to be with my team and prepare and practice and go play football and obviously, get wins and feel good about what we鈥檙e doing.鈥滷or now, that’s where the Giants are. How long they remain there remains to be seen.Giants’ roster moves: Armbrister, Basile waived; RB Pressley, LB Long added [UPDATED 4:30 p.m.] The Giants also made a second pair of moves on Monday. The waived safety Mike Basile, a rookie undrafted free agent just signed two weeks ago, and added linebacker Warren Long.Long, 5-foot-11 and 212 pounds, joined the Seattle Seahawks on May 4 as an undrafted rookie from Northwestern. He was waived on Aug. 11. Long had two solo tackles in Seattle’s preseason opener vs. Indianapolis. Long was a running back his first three seasons (2013-15) at Northwestern. He was injured on his first carry in 2016, and missed the rest of the season. The following offseason http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-ray-ray-armstrong-jersey
, he became a linebacker. Playing primarily as a backup and special teamer, Long had 21 tackles (14 solo), three tackles for losses and 1.0 sack. The New York Giants have reportedly waived linebacker Thurston Armbrister with an injury designation. Armbrister has been dealing with a hamstring injury since early in training camp and hasn’t practiced since the beginning of August. With small injuries piling up elsewhere on the roster, the team couldn’t afford to wait any longer for Armbrister to get back on the field. After waiving Armbrister, the team immediately put the open roster spot to use, signing running back Jhurell Pressley. Pressley was originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2016, and has bounced around the league since. He has spent time on the Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, and Jacksonville Jaguars since coming in to the league. Pressley was regarded as a productive and athletic “change of pace” running back coming out of college, with remarkable speed and quickness. Pressley recorded 1,990 yards (7.85 yards per carry) and 23 touchdowns over his last two seasons at New Mexico, and was timed at 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash, 6.92 in the 3-cone drill and 4.06 in the short shuttle at New Mexico’s pro day. The Giants are short on running backs with Saquon Barkley nursing a strained hamstring and Jalen Simmons in the concussion protocol. The team used receiver Kalif Raymond as a running back in practice Sunday afternoon, so adding a running back isn’t a surprising move. We’ll have to see if Pressley can capitalize on his opportunity.
